Tamil Nadu minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, known for his controversial remarks against Sanatan Dharma, once again defended his stance on eliminating Sanatan Dharma.

During an event in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi expressed his concerns about the existence of social discrimination in society, particularly in Tamil Nadu. He emphasised that such discrimination is unacceptable and goes against the principles of Hindu Dharma, which promotes equality.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, when asked about the governor's remarks, expressed agreement with them. He stated that they too advocate the elimination of caste discrimination and believe that everyone is equal by birth. Any form of caste discrimination is wrong and they are actively raising their voice against it.

The comments made by the DMK leaders regarding Sanatan Dharma have caused a major controversy. Even some of the party's allies have distanced themselves from these statements, further escalating the situation.

The DMK, an important opposition party in the I.N.D.I. Alliance, has put several parties, including the Congress, in a difficult position. The controversial remarks have created a dilemma for these parties, forcing them to carefully navigate the situation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading the BJP, has been relentless in attacking the opposition parties on this issue. The Congress has been accused of colluding with the DMK to target Hindus.

The saffron party has already made this a key topic in states like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, where assembly elections are scheduled for later this year.

Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Union Minister of Law and Justice, has cautioned leaders against making such statements. He emphasised that disrespecting a religion is akin to disrespecting the Constitution. He further stated that anyone in a constitutional position should show respect to all religions.

With the Lok Sabha elections approaching next year, the issue of Sanatan Dharma is expected to remain a significant topic in political discussions.
