Continuing its crackdown on powerful criminals in the state, the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh has cracked down on land mafia criminal Ramsingh Yadav and has seized property worth Rs 83.16 crore in Lucknow.
The crackdown on Ramsingh Yadav is one in a series of actions against powerful criminals for crimes such as murder, loot, possession of illegal properties and other cases.
Among these criminals who became powerful enough under the previous regimes to not see any crackdown on them and their actions, is Ramsingh Yadav himself.
The police actions against him have been carried out under the Gangster Act.
Reports say that people who wanted to complain against him could not gather courage, and officers could not gather courage to take action against him.
Police have said that Ramsingh Yadav is a history sheeter. He has 25 cases against him. Bank accounts of his two sons have also been seized and authorities are taking account of his property in Sitapur.
He was enjoying the illegal possession of land worth crores that comes under the Vrindavan Yojana. He had illegal possession of a stretch of government land. The police has seized his property in Haivatmau, Maivaiya, Vrindavan Yojana and Telibaag. Bank accounts of his wife and relatives are also under the scanner.
