Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya honouring the on-duty doctor, with a letter of appreciation (right)
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reached the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) dispensary in New Delhi on Tuesday (31 August) night for a surprise inspection. During this, the doctor at CGHS reportedly took good care of him.
Mandaviya was wearing a mask on his face and there were no officers with him. Because of this, the doctors on duty could not recognise him, but the doctor, after listening to Mandaviya, gave him medicines and also answered all his queries.
Later, the Health Minister called Dr. Arvind Kumar, the then on-duty doctor, to the ministry, and gave him a letter of encouragement.
The letter read, "I am glad that you talked politely to me, understood my problems, gave your diagnosis about my problems and treated me well. During this, I found that your service attitude was in line with the expected behaviour of a CGHS doctor and I appreciate you for this."
He further wrote, "Your humility, conscientiousness, expertise and devotion to your work is an inspiration to other doctors and health workers working across the country under CGHS. If all the CGHS doctors, other doctors and health workers of the country treat the patients coming to them with the same sensitivity, then together we will be able to fulfill Prime Minister Modi's dream of a healthy India."
A few days ago, the Health Minister had also conducted a surprise inspection in the emergency block of Safdarjung Hospital. During this, five to seven officers of the ministry also inspected the medical facilities as normal patients.
