News Brief
Rahul Gandhi
Responding to journalists' questions on insult to Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi blamed the media on Wednesday (20 December).
"Who insulted him (Dhankhar), how? MPs were sitting there. I took a video. My video is on my phone but the media is showing the video (making it public). Media is saying, Modi ji is saying, nobody else said anything," the Wayanad MP said.
"150 of our MPs have been thrown out (of the House) but there is no discussion on that in the media. There is no discussion on Adani, no discussion on Rafale, no discussion on unemployment. Our MPs are disheartened and sitting outside. But you are discussing that (mimicry)," Gandhi added.
The Congress leader mocked media saying, "At least show a little news. It is your responsibility. But you are totally running on a line, what can we do."
With Gandhi's reaction it appears that mimicking Dhankhar is not an insult to him but making it public or talking about is.
