'Will Review, Disclose It In Timely Manner': Election Commission On Receiving Electoral Bond Details From SBI

The Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, announced on Wednesday (13 March) that the Election Commission has received details from the State Bank of India (SBI) regarding electoral bonds.
This information will be shared in due course as per a report by NDTV.
His statement follows the Supreme Court's directive to SBI to provide details of electoral bonds purchased since 12 April 12 2019.
SBI is the authorised financial institution for issuing electoral bonds.
"SBI was supposed to submit the data by 12 March. They have provided us with the details on time. I will review the data and disclose it in a timely manner," Kumar told reporters.
Kumar arrived to review preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
"We are prepared for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. We are committed to ensuring free and fair elections across the country. We urge voters, including those in Jammu and Kashmir, to actively participate in this 'festival of democracy,'" the CEC said.
He also mentioned that social media cells will be set up in all districts to counter fake news in real-time.
"Adequate security will be provided to all candidates, and central forces will be deployed," he added.
Kumar emphasised the importance of monitoring online cash transfers through wallets in Jammu and Kashmir.
Additionally, he noted that people above 85 years of age and those with disabilities will be provided with the facility to vote from home in Jammu and Kashmir.
