Yogi Adityanath Slams Secularism, Calls It The Biggest Threat Against Developing India's Prosperous Traditions

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called secularism the biggest threat to develop India's prosperous traditions at a global stage. He also warned people involved in creating a false propaganda against India, by asserting that they will face the heat.

"This word 'secularism' is the biggest threat to develop India's prosperous traditions and give it a spot on the global stage. People who are misguiding the public for their own benefit and betraying the country will not be spared. People who are creating false propaganda about India for money will face the heat", Yogi has been quoted as saying.

While inaugurating the first edition of Global Encyclopedia of Ramayana, Yogi narrated the story of a Buddhist guide he met during a visit to Angkor Wat.

Yogi said that the temple guide confidently admitted that Buddhism has originated from Hinduism and he (Yogi) criticised people who question Hindu culture. He asked people to rise above petty communal disputes and sustain the harmonious spirit of the country.

“The stories of Ramayana and Mahabharata not only give us the best life lessons, but also tell us a lot about the expansion of Indian boundaries. These stories of our epic Hindu literatures help us envision a better India. Pakistan was a part of India before 1947 and Maryada Purushottam Lord Sri Ram had extended the boundaries of India during his time by making his brother’s son, the ruler of Pakistan,” Yogi was quoted as saying.

Yogi appealed to the individuals devoted to the Ramayana, Shri Ram and India as a whole to participate in launching the encyclopedia. He believes that this encyclopedia will end up encouraging people to explore Ayodhya and open up an untouched scientific and spiritual aspect.

Its first edition, designed by IIT Kharagpur, will be rolled out in Hindi and Tamil in the forthcoming month. It will be published in over 200 volumes and the Ayodhya Research Institute has established a board of advisers and editors across the country and the world for the same.

“There are seven holy cities of Sapta Puri, which are considered as the holiest Hindu Teerths, out of these, Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kashi are within Uttar Pradesh. It is a matter of pride for us that a workshop has been organised by the Department of Culture in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs. It should be our endeavour to stage Ramleela all over the world,” the Chief Minister said.
