In a recent development, the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has been extended for 14 days in connection with the excise policy case, as reported by NDTV.
Singh's arrest marks the third high-profile apprehension linked to this case, with AAP's communication in-charge, Vijay Nair, arrested last September, and Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, apprehended in February this year, both of whom remain incarcerated.
A Delhi court, addressing the allegations related to the money laundering case concerning the Delhi excise scam, decided to keep AAP leader Sanjay Singh in judicial custody until 27 October.
Sanjay Singh, a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, was taken into custody by the anti-money laundering agency on 4 October.
The agency has leveled accusations against him, alleging his significant involvement in the formulation and execution of a policy that has since been annulled.
This policy, as per the agency's claims, had offered financial benefits to specific liquor manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers.
