NIA
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against Ibrahim Puthanathani alias Ibrahim MK, the national coordinator of the now-banned Popular Front of India (PFI).
The NIA probe has revealed that the organisation was conducting arms training under the guise of physical education classes.
According to a press release by the NIA, Ibrahim was involved in preparing the syllabus for the advanced physical and weapons training and would travel all over the country to supervise camps.
Ibrahim Puthanathani has been charged under sections 120B, 121A, 122, 153A of the IPC and sections 13,18,18A, and 18B of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
The chargesheet comes a few days after the NIA took over the Kozhikode train arson case in which the suspect Shahrukh Saifi had thrown an inflammable liquid at train passengers causing burn injuries to 9.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Kerala police has said that it has found that some of Saifi's contacts were on the radar of Anti-Terror Squads (ATS) of other states.
