"Reliable Information About Snooping In Raj Bhavan", West Bengal Governor Alleges Amid Tensions With TMC Govt

Amidst a strained relationship with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has raised concerns about alleged "snooping" attempts at Raj Bhavan, his official residence in Kolkata.
According to Hindustan Times, Bose asserted on Tuesday (21 November) that he possessed "reliable information" regarding the intrusion into the governor's residence and had brought the matter to the attention of the relevant authorities.
"I had reliable information about snooping in Raj Bhavan. That issue has been flagged to the concerned authorities. I will wait and watch," Bose stated without specifying the identity of those behind the alleged snooping attempt.
Bose, much like his predecessor, has experienced tensions with the state government on various fronts. Recently, he sought a report from a university regarding the installation of new plaques featuring Rabindranath Tagore's name.
Additionally, he renamed the North Gate of Raj Bhavan as the 'Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore Gate' following a controversy over the omission of Tagore's name on some plaques inside the campus.
On 16 November, Bose highlighted a perceived culture of violence in Bengal politics, expressing concern about the impact of violence on the state's political landscape. He emphasised the need for strong action, both legally and socially, to curb this culture of violence.
Earlier criticisms from West Bengal Speaker Biman Banerjee focused on delays in the governor's approval of bills. Bose responded, stating that no bill was pending with him except those requiring clarification from the state government or currently under consideration by the courts.
The ongoing confrontations between Bose and the state government have revolved around issues such as the appointment of university VCs, the state's foundation day, the withholding of MGNREGA dues by the Centre, and instances of political violence.
