    • The tweet sparked controversy and she was severely criticised after which she had to delete the "Galwan says hi" tweet.

  • The controversial tweet was a reaction to Indian Army's statement that it is ready to execute orders from the government if it is asked to take back the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

  • The apology: Chadha released an apology today citing her military background and claiming that "it's in her blood."

    • She said that she personally knows how it feels to lose a son as a martyr and it's an emotive issue for her.

  • She also said that her intention was not to offend or hurt anyone and hence she apologises.

    • It provides crucial insights into the role he played as part of the team which initiated far-reaching reforms in India’s economy in the early 1990s.

  • The book not only explains what happened but also the motivations and processes behind key events in the areas of money and finance till 2014.

  • The author is an Indian economist, a former MP of Rajya Sabha, and the 19th Governor of the RBI.

    • After being in academics for nearly three decades, he joined RBI as deputy governor in 1982.

  • He also served as member of Planning Commission, Andhra Pradesh governor, chairman of 12th Finance Commission, and chairman of Economic Advisory Council to the PM (Dr Manmohan Singh).

  • 4. 🚒 Navy's indigenous Mormugao

    Update: The second ship of Project 15B stealth guided missile destroyers was delivered to the Indian Navy today.

    • A total of four ships were planned to be built at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) under a contract signed in 2011.

  • This Project is a follow-on of the Kolkata class (Project 15A) destroyers commissioned in the last decade.

  • The lead ship of the Project - INS Visakhapatnam has already been commissioned on 21 November 2021.

  • The ship is 163 metres long and 17 metres wide, displaces 7,400 tonnes when fully loaded and has a maximum speed of 30 knots.

    • The ship had sailed out for her maiden sea sortie on 19 December 2021 and has now been delivered.

  • The destroyer is installed with major indigenous weapons like Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missiles, BrahMos, Indigenous Torpedo Tube Launchers, Anti-Submarine Indigenous Rocket Launchers and 76mm Super Rapid Gun Mount.

    Lachit Borphukan is one of the brightest stars of Ahom dynasty of Assam.

    • He was born on 24 November 1622 and rose to become the Commander in Chief of Ahom Army.

  • He deployed a brilliant combination of guerilla tactics, subterfuge, diplomacy, daring and psychological warfare to defeat the much larger army of Mughals.

  • The battle of Saraighat fought in 1671 set the stage for the exit of the Mughals from the kingdom of Asom.

    • Ahoms inflicted a devastating drubbing on the Mughal forces under Lachit Borphukan's leadership.

  • Had the Mughals won the decisive battle and defeated Borphukan, they would have massacred the Ahoms, including non-combatants.
