'BJP Files' Shared By DMK Supporters Is Cut-Copy-Paste Fabricated Audio Of Podcast Conversation With Smita Prakash Of ANI Says Annamalai

Palanivel Thiagarajan and K Annamalai.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai has said that an audio called 'BJP Files' being circulated on social media by supporters of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is a product of 'cut-copy-paste' from a podcast in which he spoke to Smita Prakash of ANI.

He shared a video in which the 'BJP Files' audio and his conversation in the podcast can be heard one after the other.

The said audio was circulated after two audios alleged to be that of Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan went viral.

In the first audio, the voice alleged to be that of Thiaga Rajan could be heard saying “Both Udhay and Sabaree have realised, they have made more money in one year than they (unclear) entire lives and now it’s getting to be a problem, how to handle it, how to not get caught.. ...(unclear)...", while in the second audio, there were references to 'money-management' and 'spoils.'

Regarding the response of Thiagarajan to the audio released yesterday (25 April), in which he called both the audios deep fakes made by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Annamalai said that he was ready to face the law and prove that the audio released by him was real.

Further, he said "The defence posted by TN State FM to the audio tape circulated by us stands out as an example of what the DMK 1st family could do to a highly educated man with self-esteem. It is also evident from his clarification of how DMK has evolved to become a party that doesn't think beyond the first family.

"The State FM seems compelled to parrot like the rest of the group to sing praises of TN CM’s son, who hasn't achieved anything on his own merits but only on being born into a family which has flexed his political powers for personal gains. How desperate should one become to call the prince of the first family the hope of the next generation?

"Fall in line or perish seems to be the Tag line of DMK & the State FM is no exception and should stop posting these flimsy statements as defences."
