Several senior BJP leaders and UP Ministers attended the meeting organized by the Rashtravadi Muslim Pasmanda Mahaz.

In an effort to address the opposition being fuelled in the Muslim community regarding the UCC, the Rashtravadi Muslim Pasmanda Mahaz, a Pasmanda Muslim organization associated with the BJP, organised a convention in Lucknow.

The aim of the convention was to dispel the misconceptions about the UCC that were being spread by certain Muslim clerics, leaders, and opposition parties.

The convention, titled "Uniform Civil Code aur Pasmanda Muslims — brantiyon aur afwahon ko dur karne ke liye samwad" (UCC and Pasmanda Muslims — dialogue to remove misconceptions and rumors), focused on engaging in dialogue to eliminate misunderstandings and rumors surrounding the UCC.

Several senior BJP leaders and UP Ministers attended the meeting organized by the Rashtravadi Muslim Pasmanda Mahaz.

The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) chairperson, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, who is a member of the BJP's Central Parliamentary Board and Central Election Committee, was the chief guest at the convention.

Other notable attendees on the stage included UP Minister of State for Minorities Affairs Danish Azad Ansari, MoS Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh, and the BJP's member in UP Legislative Council Vidya Sagar Sonkar.

The stage was adorned with a banner featuring photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and UP BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, along with Lalpura, Danish, and Sonkar.

Lalpura assured the gathering that the UCC should not be feared by the Muslim community, as PM Modi takes care of everyone.

During his speech, Atif Rashid, the president of Mahaz, challenged upper caste members of the AIMPLB for a debate on the UCC. He emphasized that the UCC aims to provide equal rights to women without altering the prayers, culture, or lifestyle of people.

Rashid also expressed his organization's intention to meet with AIMPLB members to prevent any misguided information from reaching Pasmanda Muslims.

Faisal Mansoori, the UP in-charge of Mahaz, criticized leaders like Asaduddin Owaisi, Muslim clerics, and AIMPLB members for spreading misconceptions about the UCC in the Muslim community without fully understanding its content.

Mansoori announced that a resolution was passed at the convention, stating that the UCC is in the best interest of the Muslim community. He also mentioned plans to organise similar conventions in Delhi, Jharkhand, Assam, West Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, and Hyderabad in the near future.

According to Mansoori, the Mahaz was not asked by the BJP to organize the convention on the UCC. He noted that the Lucknow event was the first of its kind held by the outfit.

Mansoori acknowledged that the BJP does provide representation to Muslims in the government, commissions, and other institutions. He highlighted that the BJP has two Pasmanda Muslims as MLCs in Uttar Pradesh and is willing to offer more opportunities to the community if they vote for the party in elections.

Sonkar, a BJP leader, emphasized the importance of implementing the UCC across the country. He dismissed the misconceptions that the UCC would interfere with Muslims' religious practices, particularly their ways of prayer.

Sonkar also mentioned that the Mahaz has had an association with the BJP and expressed the belief that Muslims with a progressive ideology are increasingly aligning themselves with the party. He further highlighted the active participation of the Pasmanda section of the Muslim community in this direction.

Sonkar further elaborated on the growing involvement of Muslims with progressive views in the BJP. He stated that the community's Pasmanda section has been actively coming forward and aligning themselves with the party.

The remarks suggest that there is a positive trend of Muslims embracing the BJP and its ideology, particularly those who hold progressive values.
