Chhattisgarh: BSP Forms Alliance With Gondwana Ganatantra Party For Upcoming Assembly Elections

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) have recently forged an alliance in preparation for the imminent Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh.
This strategic partnership aims to make a substantial impact on the political landscape of the state.
According to a spokesperson from the BSP, the collaboration entails the BSP fielding candidates on 53 out of the 90 seats, while the GGP will contest on the remaining 37 seats.
In a press conference, the announcement of this alliance was made by prominent figures such as BSP Rajya Sabha MP and national coordinator, Ramji Gautam, and GGP national general secretary, Shyam Singh Markam, along with other influential leaders from both parties.
Hemant Poyam, the chief of the BSP's state unit, also confirmed this development.
The BSP and GGP have meticulously finalized their seat-sharing agreement, with the BSP concentrating its efforts on 53 seats and the GGP on 37.
The alliance is confident, as it aspires to challenge the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress with a united front in the forthcoming elections.
Last month, the BSP unveiled its initial list of candidates who will be representing the party in the impending Assembly polls.
Notably, in the previous 2018 Assembly elections, the BSP had formed an alliance with the Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) and the Communist Party of India.
Despite securing just 3.87% of the total votes, the party managed to claim victory in Jaijaipur and Pamgarh constituencies.
