Government Compulsorily Retires IAS Officer Who Was Transferred Over Stadium Row

The government has compulsorily retired IAS officer Rinku Dugga, who was transferred last year over stadium row, based on her career record, according to The Indian Express.
Rinku Dugga, a 1994-batch AGMUT cadre officer, was serving as Principal Secretary, Indigenous Affairs in Arunachal Pradesh.
She and her husband, Sanjeev Khirwar, who is also a 1994-batch IAS officer posted in Ladakh, were transferred out of Delhi last year.
This decision was made around a year after it was reported that they had emptied a stadium of athletes to walk their dog.
According to a government official quoted in IE report, orders has been issued compulsorily retiring Dugga based on her track record.
This retirement has been carried out under Fundamental Rules (FR) 56(j), Rule 48 of Central Civil Services (CCS) Pension Rules, 1972, the official said.
The government has the right to retire any government servant “if it is of the opinion that it is in the public interest to do so”.
