PM Modi
Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi used the Bharatiya Janta Party’s (BJP) victory in Thursday’s assembly poll results to set sights on the next Lok Sabha elections in India.
“When we formed government in 2019 (at centre), 'experts' said it was because of the 2017 victory (in UP)... I believe the same 'experts' will say that 2022 election result will decide the fate of 2024 national elections,” PM Modi said in his victory speech from BJP’s headquarter in New Delhi.
PM Modi also explained that Thursday’s results vindicate the saffron party’s pro-poor and pro-active governance. He criticised the previous governments for failing to even deliver basic amenities like electricity, water and gas to the people of India.
The PM spoke elaborately on a host of issues; right from his government’s ruthlessness against corruption to the caste and dynasty-driven politics of the opposition parties.
He expressed his gratitude to the women voters for extending their support to the BJP and also indicated that Uttar Pradesh (UP) is moving ahead from the era of caste-based politics.
The BJP has secured handsome victories in the UP, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur assembly polls.
