Additionally, Kumar is scheduled to travel to Kolkata on Monday to meet with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He is expected to depart from Patna and hold the meeting with Mamata Banerjee at her office in the State secretariat 'Nabanna' today.
On 12 April, Nitish Kumar had a meeting with Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and former MP Rahul Gandhi in the national capital.
This meeting was considered a significant step towards laying the foundation for a grand Opposition alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha elections next year.
Kharge called the meeting a "historic" one, with the intention to unite all opposition parties for the polls.
Gandhi, too, called the convergence of opposition parties a "historic step" that would form their vision for the country. The Bihar Chief Minister had said the idea is to try and unite as many parties as possible.
