Karnataka: Hatred Towards Hindus Led To Murder Of Harsha, Reveals NIA Chargesheet

The National Investigative Agency that is probing the murder of a young Bajrang Dal activist Harsha in Karnataka, has revealed in their chargesheet that the act was the result of 'hatred for the Hindu community'.
'Kafir Bajrang Dal Wale Ko Maro' (Kill the infidel Bajrang Dal man) 'screamed the accused as they chased Harsha with machetes in their hand and assaulted him in full public view, says the investigative agency.
Harsha was murdered in February this year in Shivamogga and was an active member of the Bajrang Dal.
The murder made national headlines, and the ten accused were booked under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA) by the Shivamogga Police before handing over the case to the NIA.
The state Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is said to have called this a "case of more than a murder" and that "there is more than what meets the eyes".
Reportedly, investigations have 'revealed that the accused had developed enmity towards the Hindu community during the CAA-NRC issue, hijab controversy and cow preservation activities of the Bajrang Dal activists'.
For these reasons, the accused conspired to create terror among people of Hindu community, and to create communal disharmony, ill-will and hatred among people of Hindu and Muslim communities in Shivamogga city, the chargesheet said.
As per the chargesheet, the accused formed themselves into a gang, conspired and hacked Harsha to death in order to create terror.
It added that the accused started observing the movement of prominent Hindu community leaders in Shivamogga during processions, celebrations and functions of the community.
The accused then zeroed in on Harsha as a prominent Hindu community leader, and to create terror among Hindus, they conducted a recce and got weapons to kill him, the chargesheet said.
