PM Modi Chairs Meeting On Manipur Violence, HM Amit Shah Briefs Him On Situation In Northeastern State

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (26 June) chaired a crucial meeting to take stock of the Manipur violence.
PM Modi chaired the meeting after landing in New Delhi on Monday morning after concluding his five-day visit to the United States and Egypt.
The meeting came after Home Minister Amit Shah held an all-party meet on Saturday (24 June), reports NDTV.
Shah briefed PM Modi about Manipur situation and internal security conditions in the violence-hit Northeastern state.
Earlier on Sunday (25 June), Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh met Shah at his Delhi home and submitted a report on the "evolving situation on the ground" in Manipur.
He told Shah that the state and central governments have been able to control the violence to a "great extent" in the past week.
In a tweet on Sunday, Singh said that Shah has assured that the central government will take all possible steps to bring normalcy in Manipur.
He added that Shah advised the state government to strengthen the work "towards achieving everlasting peace and also sought the cooperation of every stakeholders in Manipur to ensure that peace prevails in the State".
