PM Modi Leaves For Odisha, To Review The Situation In Wake Of Tragic Train Accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha today (3 June) to review the situation after the tragic three-train crash in the state, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
Over 260 people have been killed and 650 injured in the tragic three-train accident that occurred near Odisha's Balasore on Friday (2 June) evening.
The tragic collision involving two passenger trains (Chennai-bound Coromandel Express and Yashwantpur-Howrah Express), and a goods train occurred near Bahanaga Bazar Station in Odisha’s Balasore around 7 pm on Friday.
Railway spokesperson Amitabh Sharma said that these coaches fell on the opposite track and because of that, 3-4 coaches of a train from Yeshwanthpur to Howrah also got derailed.
"PM Narendra Modi is leaving for Odisha where he will review the situation in the wake of the train mishap," the PMO tweeted on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi chaired a high-level meeting to take stock of the situation in Odisha after the train mishap.
"Aspects relating to rescue, relief and medical attention to those affected were discussed in the review meeting" the PMO said.
