PM Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath
After the famous 'chai pe charcha', this time the BJP is planning 'tiffin pe charcha' or 'khane pe charcha' for its mass outreach programme in Uttar Pradesh.
This initiative aims to celebrate nine years of the Narendra Modi government and also gain support in UP for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Starting on Tuesday, the programme will cover all 80 Lok Sabha seats, with special focus on the constituency the BJP lost in the previous Lok Sabha polls, reports News18.
Union ministers, state minsters, MLAs, and party functionaries will participate in a unique 30-day programme organised by the BJP.
The party has scheduled rallies at all seats from 10 to 20 June to strengthen its image before the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Prominent party leaders and union ministers like Amit Shah, Smriti Irani, Rajnath Singh, and others are expected to attend, according to the report,
The MLAs have been instructed to gather at least 10,000 people from their respective regions. The mass outreach programme will particularly focus on the 18 Lok Sabha seats that the BJP lost in 2019.
On 29 May, the party conducted an extensive training session for over 600 volunteers and social media influencers.
“At the workshop, the volunteers were trained to highlight nine years of the Modi government at the Centre, also highlighting the development works carried out in Uttar Pradesh during the Yogi government’s tenure. The social media influencers will target all 80 Lok Sabha seats,” said Dharampal Singh, BJP’s state general secretary, according to the report.
