PFI Aimed To Induct 10 Per Cent Of Muslims To Subjugate Majority Community, Says NIA Chargesheet

Popular Front of India (PFI) was aiming to induct 10 per cent of the country’s Muslim population into its outfit to “subjugate the majority community and bring back the glory of Islam,” says the chargesheet filed by National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday (18 March).
The chargesheet names as many as 19 people of the PFI, including its chairman O M A Salam and 12 of its National Executive Council members.
NIA has submitted that the objective of the PFI was to establish an Islamic government in India and unveil a new Constitution based on Islamic Sharia law in the country “with the help of external forces.”

PFI’s vision document titled “India 2047: Establishing Rule of Islam in India” — seized during one of the NIA raids against PFI — establishing Islamic rule would include uniting Muslims and providing training to cadres, selective use of violence to demonstrate strength, build alliances with SCs/STs/OBCs to divide Hindus and infiltrating the police, army, and judiciary.
NIA investigations have also revealed a trail of funding connecting PFI terror operatives and weapons trainers.
The NIA has also frozen 40 bank accounts belonging to 19 individuals associated with the PFI, virtually squeezing the organisation’s funding activities.
“Investigations have revealed that the PFI, under the guise of building a mass organisation and socio-political movement, was actually putting together a highly motivated, trained, and secretive elite force to achieve its objectives,” said an NIA official.
If Pakistan Attacked, PFI Planned To Take The South
As per reports, a protected witness with the NIA, who was once a part of PFI’s core team, revealed that in case of any disturbance from Pakistan, when the Indian Army would be busy in the north, PFI planned to capture the south and move towards the north.
“This indicates the PFI’s intention of waging war against India and to overthrow the democratically established government,” says the chargesheet.
The chargesheet filed on Saturday makes it the fifth in this month alone and takes the total number of accused from PFI to 109.
PFI, formed in 2006, was banned in September last year after a nationwide crackdown on several PFI locations by the NIA.
