The National Security Guard (NSG), India's top counter-terrorism force, will be responsible for handling various contingencies and threats, including potential Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) attacks.

In preparation for the summit, the NSG has put its house intervention teams (HITs) and sniper teams on standby.

Additionally, the force's bomb disposal squads have been tasked with conducting anti-sabotage checks at all G20 venues. To enhance security measures, the NSG has reportedly been asked to deploy its anti-drone teams.

These teams will work in collaboration with the Air Force as part of a multi-agency effort.

According to a senior officer in the security establishment quoted in an Indian Express report, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will utilise the full range of NSG's expertise for G20 Summit security.

The NSG, in coordination with Delhi Police and other security forces, will be deployed to handle anti-terror, anti-sabotage, and anti-drone operations, as well as address any CBRN contingencies.

The NSG conducted a CBRN drill in February this year, marking a first for the organization. The drill took place during a joint exercise with the US forces.

Delhi Police has reportedly integrated the NSG into the security plans for the Summit.

The NSG will provide anti-terror backup teams, which will be fully equipped and stationed at strategic locations and venues where top Heads of States will stay.

The NSG House Intervention Teams (HITs) and sniper detachments will be prepared to neutralise any terror contingencies in such locations.

The NSG bomb squad will reportedly also be on standby at key locations to respond quickly to any potential threats. The NSG is equipped with Remotely Operated Vehicles and Total Containment Vehicles to safely handle bomb threats. During the summit, the NSG will have aerial insertion teams stationed for important events. These teams will swiftly handle any emergencies and assist in the top-down entry of NSG teams into highrise buildings in case of a terrorist threat.

The NSG teams, equipped with dual capabilities in CBRNe intervention, have conducted thorough mock drills in collaboration with NDRF and DAE. These drills have been instrumental in validating various responses for different contingencies.
