Namibian cheetah Aasha has recently given birth to three cubs at Kuno National Park (KNP) in the Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh, announced Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav on Wednesday (3 January) according to a report from The New Indian Express.

In a social media post, Yadav expressed his excitement, stating, "Purrs in the wild! Thrilled to share that Kuno National Park has welcomed three new members. The cubs have been born to Namibian Cheetah Aasha."

He referred to this development as "a roaring success for Project Cheetah, envisioned by PM Narendra Modi to restore ecological balance."

Yadav also extended his congratulations to all the experts involved in the project, Kuno wildlife officials, and wildlife enthusiasts across India.

Notably, in March 2023, Siyaya, later renamed Jwala, gave birth to four cubs after being translocated to KNP from Namibia.

Unfortunately, only one of the four cubs survived.
