TSMC Goes Past Its 2021 Revenue In The First 10 Months Of 2022

The world’s largest contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has made big gains in revenue this year compared to the last.
TSMC is the semiconductor chip manufacturing behemoth that pioneered the pure-play foundry business model.
Its revenue for January through October 2022 is NT$1,848.63 billion (just over US $59 billion), an increase of 44 per cent compared to the same period in 2021.
Notably, this figure is higher than the entire year’s revenue for TSMC last year.
The company's revenue from January through December 2021 was NT$1,587.42 billion (US $57.11 billion).
This was seen as record sales at the time, driven by strong demand for TSMC’s advanced 5-nanometre process, the latest technology the chipmaker had begun to mass-produce.
The continued demand for semiconductors from top clients like Apple and Qualcomm was also responsible for the record sales.

The company’s net revenue for October 2022 was approximately NT$210.27 billion, an increase of 1 per cent from September 2022 and an increase of 56.3 per cent from October 2021.
