Pakistan: Imran Khan Walks Free After Islamabad High Court Grants Bail In All Cases Against Him

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been released from jail and has returned to his home in Lahore after being granted relief on all cases against him by the Islamabad High Court.

According to report by Dawn, Khan was granted blanket relief on all cases against him by various benches of Islamabad High Court. He got a stay over proceeding against him in the Toshkhana case till the second week of june, as well.

Khan was arrested by the Pakistani Rangers from the Islamabad High Court four days ago (9 May), which has led to widespread violence in the country.

Khan is accused for corruption in the Toshkhana case for illegally selling gifts received from foreign dignitaries for personal benefit, Al-Qadir trust case for legalising laundered money received from the UK and various other cases.

Two days ago, Pakistan's Supreme Court has termed Khan's detention illegal and asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to release him. Following the verdict, the Islamabad High Court has also given bail for the next two weeks in the Al-Qadir Trust case, as well.
