The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) handed over 12 Licensing Agreements for Transfer of Technology (LAToTs) covering eight cutting-edge defence products to various industry partners.
The ToT agreements were inked during the inaugural session of SAMANVAY 2025, a two-day industry synergy meet organised by DRDO’s Electronics and Communication Systems (ECS) Cluster in Bengaluru.
The technologies transferred include:
1. D-29 Electronic Warfare Suite to Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), Bengaluru;
2. NATSAT-Handheld and NATSAT-Mini Terminals to BEL, Panchkula;
3. Sarang Electronic Support Measure System of Programme SAMUDRIKA to BEL, Bengaluru; and DOLPHIN-II to BEL, Bengaluru;
4. Laser Beam Rider Guidance System with Eye-safe Laser Range Finder to BEL, Pune, and Bharat Dynamics Ltd, Hyderabad;
5. Athermal Laser Target Designator to BEL, Pune;
6. Laser Photoacoustic Spectroscopy to Ghaziabad-based DH Limited Hyderabad-based Enertech Engineering Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon-based Beam Infotech Pvt Ltd, and Pune-based Nibe Ltd; and
7. M-Type Dispenser Cathode to Panacea Medical Technologies Pvt Ltd, Malur, Karnataka.
The event, attended by over 150 industry partners including MSMEs and start-ups, was organised to apprise the industries of DRDO’s industry-friendly initiatives and policies aligned with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Virtually inaugurating the meet, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO, Samir V Kamat, said that by uniting innovation and industry, DRDO is empowering Indian defence manufacturing for a self-reliant tomorrow.
He added that from research laboratories to real-world capabilities, DRDO is partnering with industry to come up with indigenised solutions for the Armed Forces and realise the Government’s vision of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’.
Kamat stated that DRDO has instituted Industry Interaction Groups at all its laboratories, centres, establishments, and headquarters to enhance industry understanding of DRDO’s policies and procedures.
