J&K: Security Forces Foil Infiltration Bid In Machhal Sector, Gun Down Four Terrorists

The security forces have gunned down four terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Machhal sector on Friday (23 June).

The terrorists were trying to infiltrate into J&K from Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK).

The infiltration attempt was foiled by the security forces in Kala Jungle area of Machhal sector in north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

"In a joint operation, Army and Police have killed four terrorists in Kala Jungle of Machhal sector in Kupwara who were trying to infiltrate to our side from POJK," the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted on Friday.

This is the second major infiltration attempt foiled by the security forces in a week in J&K.

Last Friday, five terrorists were killed during an infiltration bid in Jumagund area of Keran sector in the Union Territory.

In a statement, the Indian Army said that war-like stores have been recovered from the encounter site and the operation is still underway.
