The trial run of the first Vande Bharat rake for the North Western Railway commenced on Tuesday, following its arrival in the state on Saturday (25 March), with the train journeying from Ajmer to Delhi.
The train departed Ajmer for Delhi on Tuesday at 8 pm. During a trial, it paused at Jaipur junction for five minutes at 9:45 pm.
Officials announced that the train will go back to Ajmer on Wednesday and have another trial on Thursday-Friday.
After the train reaches Delhi, the train undergoes an hour-long inspection. After the trial run, the fare, food menu of the train will be decided officially.
After trials, officials expect regular train services to start during the first week of April; the train will run six days a week, excluding Wednesdays.
Departing from Ajmer at 6:10 am, the train would make a stop in Jaipur at 7:55 am before reaching Delhi at 12:15 pm. The return journey from Delhi is scheduled for 6:10 pm, with a stop in Jaipur at 10:20 pm, and arrival in Ajmer at 12:15 am the following day.
According to the reports, the staff operating the trains between Jaipur and Delhi have undergone specialised training in handling the customised rake of the Vande Bharat Express.
