Indian Railways will hand over appointment letters to 14,000 job aspirants in various categories on 28 October this year at the 10th Rozgar Mela.
Beginning from the first Rozgar Mela in October 2022, the total number of appointments given to job seekers will reach 1,54,342 on 28 October.
The Indian Railways is organising the Rozgar Mela at 37 places across the country to hand over appointment letters to track maintainers, assistant loco pilots, helpers, assistant points man, station masters, teaching staff, and nursing staff among others.
The Indian Railways has recruited over 7,000 women in various posts in Group C category following nationwide Rozgar Mela events.
According to the Railways, a total of 139,652 candidates in various posts ranging from Level-1 to Level-6, including station master, loco pilot, commercial clerk, guard, nursing staff, and teaching staff have been filled up against the target of 1.54 lakh vacancies by October-end 2023.
While 90 per cent of these posts belong to the safety category, there are other categories which include nursing staff and teaching staff, which were mostly filled up by women aspirants.
The Railways has undertaken a massive recruitment drive that was launched two years back to fill over 1.54 lakh posts in different categories, with the entire hiring process expected to be completed soon.
Examinations were being held for filling up these posts in various categories ranging from Level-1 to Level-6 across the country.
The process involving a computer-based test, a physical test, a medical test, and certificate verifications was being carried out for the recruitment of railway helpers, loco drivers, guards, station masters, and commercial clerks among other posts.
The tenth Rozgar Mela, to be held across the country on coming Saturday (28 October), is expected to involve various other Ministries including Home, Finance, Defence, Postal, Education, Health, Science, and Technology and Telecommunication.
There will be a total of 16 Ministries involved in the upcoming Rozgar Mela.
