Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is facing a cash crunch. With the Sunday announcement of a nationwide fund collection drive, the party is in dire straits and needs to fill its coffers if it has to fight the Lok Sabha polls, which are just a few months away. AAP has also announced its intent to fight the polls in Rajasthan.
Senior AAP leader Gopal Rai, in a press briefing, said that the party was faced with a resource crunch to run the party and fight the upcoming polls.
Rai further said that the party, which conducted its affairs with “full honesty” was now in need of money to run its operations and prepare for the next elections. The campaign called ‘Aap Ka Daan, Rashtra Ka Nirman’ will be launched by Arvind Kejriwal at Talkatora stadium in the national capital on Monday, Rai said , as reported by Financial Express.
The AAP will go to door-to-door and ask people to contribute at least Rs 100 per month. Prithvi Reddy, the Karnataka convener and national executive member
In the scheme, people will be asked to contribute in a monthly manner as well as a one-time basis. The amount must not exceed Rs. 2000. The mode of payment can be through online, cheques, cards and cash.
