After discussions with Party Chief Shri Uddhav Thackeray, Shivsena has decided to contest the West Bengal Assembly Elections.
We are reaching Kolkata soon...!!
Jai Hind, à¦à¦¯à¦¼ বাà¦à¦²à¦¾ !
Incidentally, the Shiv Sena - which severed ties with the BJP over a year ago, had also decided to contest the recently concluded Bihar assembly polls, but without much success.
It was reported that Shiv Sena lost all 22 seats it contested and also got lower votes than NOTA. Incidentally, the party had initially decided to contest 50 seats in the state but only 30 of its candidates filed the nomination papers. Finally 22 were able to contest the polls as eight were disqualified during the document scrutiny.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
