Ahmed Shali Who Led Team In TN To Proselytise Dalits, Arrested By NIA For Hindu Activist Ramalingam’s Murder

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) have arrested Shali alias Muden Ahmed Shali, a 51-year-old resident of Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu in connection for the brutal murder of Hindu activist V Ramalingam reports One India.

On 5 February 2019 Ramalingam Pattali a former activist of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) was murdered for opposing religious conversion of Dalits by a group of unidentified men, suspected to be Muslims.

The group of men who were on a dawah mission was going house by house proselytising (converting) non-Hindus in Tanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.

Myden Ahmed Shali who has been arrested by the NIA was head of the dawah team that had entered into an altercation with Ramalingam on the morning of 5 February, 2019. He is later alleged to have participated in meetings conducted by radical Islamist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) activists, wherein it was decided to kill Ramalingam for openly challenging them.
