All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) will be setting up four teacher training institutes to help candidates keep up with the latest developments in technical education, Financial Express has reported.
Chairman of AICTE, Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe, told the media about the plan on the sidelines of The National Conference on Indian Higher Education: Quality Assurance, Accreditation & Ranking. He added that motivated teachers, who will be conversant with fast-changing technology in the technical education sector, will be produced by the institutes.
The academies will come up in Thiruvananthapuram, Jaipur, Guwahati and Baroda. They will be functional in two years. AICTE sought one acre of land from the West Bengal government to set up an institute in the state. However, the state has not responded to the request so far.
The AICTE chairman also asked institutes to get themselves accredited for a fee of Rs 1 lakh. He added that the body was aiming to get 30-50 per cent of accreditation of all institutes in the next two years and 100 per cent of institutions by four years.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
