Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal Launches Torch Relay For Upcoming Khelo India Youth Games 2020

The nation is set to witness the Khelo India Youth Games 2020 which are set to begin from 10 January in the upcoming year, reports Asian News International (ANI).

In the view of the same, the Chief Minister (CM) of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday (29 December) launched the torch relay for the mega sporting event in the state's capital city of Guwahati.

During the event organised for launching the torch relay, CM Sonowal honoured the medal winners from the South Asian Games 2019-20 with cash awards of Rs 50,000 from the Assam Olympic Association. The awards were provided under the state's Integrated Sports Policy.

Sonowal also noted that as many as 633 sportspersons from his state will be participating in the Khelo India Youth Games 2020 and called on them to work hard and bring laurels to the state.
