Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the head of Shri Ramjanmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust constituted to look after the construction and management of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, has been tested positive for the Covid-19 infection, reports Outlook.
The 80-year-old seer is in Mathura where he had gone for the Janamashtami celebrations. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken detailed information on the health of Das and directed the district officials to take proper care of the seer.
The UP CM has spoken to the Mathura district magistrate (DM) as also to Dr Trehan of the Medanta hospital and requested for immediate medical attention to Das at the facility.
On 5 August, Das has recently shared dias with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
