Arora also pointed out cases where Ayushman Bharat scheme has helped poor patients. In one such instance, a poor 67-year-old lady of North Diglipur in Andaman, after being diagnosed with cervical cancer, was flown to MIOT, a private hospital in Chennai, for radiotherapy as there are no provisions of radiotherapy at Islands. She was treated free of cost and transportation cost of the lady was included in the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
So satisfying @PMOIndia. 67yr old poor lady of Diglipur North Andaman came to GBPH Gyane OPD wt bleeding. Diagnosed as Cervix cancer. Since radiotherapy not available at Islands, patient freely treated at MIOT Chennai under #AyushmanBharat includ transportation costs @ibhushan

In another instance, a person working as a labourer in Haryana suffered a heart attack four months ago. He had no money to do his angioplasty, which was costing him Rs. 1.5 lakh. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, he was operated free of cost in a private hospital in Karnal.
Day begins with a smile. A labourer in Haryana suffers heart attack 4 months back. Could not get angioplasty done as it costed â¹1.5lacs. Operated under #AyushmanBharat at private hospital in Karnal free of cost The patient is recovering well. @PMOIndia gift on #WorldHeartDay
