ORR is among the densest corridors in the IT capital of India. It is dotted with major IT Parks that houses major companies such as Intel, AOL, Cisco and others.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget speech had announced extension of funds worth Rs 14,788 crore for the Phase 2A and 2B of the Bengaluru Metro project.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has also signed an agreement with the Government of India, to provide Japanese official development assistance (ODA) loan amounting to Japanese Yen 52,036 million which is approximately 3,717 crore Indian rupees, for the development of Phase 2 of Bangalore Metro Rail
Implementation of the project will provide a much needed additional public transport infrastructure to Bangalore, with most commuters having to rely on an over-stretched BMTC bus service, expensive cabs or private vehicles for their day to day needs.
Implementation of the project will provide a much needed additional public transport infrastructure to Bangalore, with most commuters having to rely on an over-stretched BMTC bus service, expensive cabs or private vehicles for their day to day needs.
The metro project is expected to streamline the urban transportation system in Bengaluru, which is stressed due to intensive developments, increase in the number of private vehicles and heavy construction in the city putting stress on travel infrastructure and industrial activities and to provide the people a safe, secure, reliable and comfortable public transport.
