Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have ranked among the top five Indian states over the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate, reports Deccan Chronicle.
According to the report, latest research by Crisil has found that Andhra Pradesh secured the second rank in the list with 11.2 per cent GSDP growth in the 2018 fiscal.
Bihar has topped the list by clocking 11.4 per cent GSDP growth. It was ranked at eighth spot in fiscal 2017 with a 9.9 per cent growth rate.
Telangana with 10.4 per cent growth rate has secured the fourth spot in the list behind Gujarat which clocked at 11.1 per cent.
The report states that compared to the last five years, the average growth rate of Telangana and Andhra has seen a significant rise.
In the five year-period from 2013 to 2017, the average GSDP growth rate of Telangana was 7.4 per cent while Andhra Pradesh clocked 7.6 per cent rate against the national average Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate of 6.9 per cent.
Meanwhile, Telangana state has beaten Andhra Pradesh over per capita income. In 2018, the per capita income was Rs 68,199 in Telangana while Andhra’s stood at Rs 29,219.
