During his address at the inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (15 February) delivered an ominous warning to Pakistan and terror outfits based there, promising to punish forces behind terrorism a day after the deadly Pulwama attack in which at least 44 CRPF soldiers have been martyred, reports Hindustan Times.
“The blood of the people is boiling,” Modi stated while saying that a ‘strong response’ was coming. The BJP and other political parties have shelved all political meetings of their respective top leaders in consideration of the Pulwama attack.
Notorious Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack; the Jihadist organisation has been nurtured by Pakistan for years and its leadership enjoys a safe haven in the country.
For its part, Pakistan has denied that it had anything to with the terror strike in Pulwama. However, the centre has trained its guns squarely at the country for letting JeM supremo Masood Azhar operate unhindered, and for allowing him “to carry out attacks in India and elsewhere with impunity”.
Without mentioning Pakistan directly, Modi stated, “If our neighbour, which is totally isolated in the world and thinks it can destabilise India through its tactics and conspiracies, then it is making a huge mistake.”
