The Institute of Chartered Accountancy of India (ICAI) has invited suggestions from its member Chartered Accountants (CA) and other stakeholders over the direct and indirect taxation proposals by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the recent union budget.
As per a notification on ICAI’s official website, the Direct Taxes Committee, GST and Indirect Taxes Committee and Committee on International Taxation of ICAI has invited suggestions for their inclusion in the post budget memorandum.
This memorandum when complete would be submitted to the Finance Ministry. The last date for submission of suggestions is 14 July.
These suggestions need to be made in chiefly two categories:
- Direct Taxation
- Indirect Taxation
The proposals can either be sent collectively by the regional branch of ICAI or by the any member of the council. It can also be sent by other stakeholders who are not the members of ICAI.
