Chartered Accountancy Body ICAI To Extend Technical Support To Nepal Peer For Helping Develop CA Profession

Chartered Accountancy (CA) body Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) have entered into an MoU to provide technical support to the latter for developing the CA profession in the country.
As per the MoU, both ICAI and ICAN would be jointly working to advance accounting knowledge, profession and intellectual development of Chartered Accountants in both the countries, with an aim to develop the profession in both the countries.
ICAI had recently provided technical assistance to ICAN to improve its examination systems. Under this cooperation, officers from ICAN visited ICAI to study the examination system and discuss various activities to ensure its smooth conduct.
The ICAN representatives were briefed about the entire examination process and the various activities being carried out by ICAI’s examination department.
Incidentally, ICAN was founded with the help of ICAI’s technical support and the first MoU between the two bodies was signed in the year 1998. ICAI provided assistance for development of profession and regulatory framework which including drafting the syllabus, setting up of the examination system, technical, research cell and more.
