As part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), four greenfield industrial smart nodes are developed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
Major trunk infrastructure works have been completed in these industrial nodes, with 138 plots covering 754 acres allotted to companies with investment to the tune of more than Rs 16,750 crore.
"Anchor investors in these nodes include companies like Hyosung from South Korea, NLMK from Russia, Haier from China, Tata Chemicals and Amul. Also, 23 projects in other Industrial Corridors are under various stages of planning and development," the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said.
To increase the share of manufacturing in the country's overall GDP and ensure systematic and planned urbanization, the Government of India has adopted the strategy of developing integrated industrial corridors on the backbone of transport connectivity infrastructure in partnership with state governments.
Under the Industrial Corridor Programme, the objective is to create greenfield smart industrial cities with sustainable 'plug n play' ICT enabled utilities to facilitate the manufacturing investments into the country by providing reliable and resilient infrastructure for the industries. The union government has approved 11 Industrial Corridors consisting of 32 projects to be developed in four Phases.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
