Incidents of police and health personnel being attacked while attempting to track down Nizamuddin Tablighi Jamaat event attendees and their contacts, have been reported from various parts of the country.
One such incident has been reported from Bihar’s Madhubani where a team of cops was pelted with stones yesterday (31 March) while they were checking if any Tablighi event attendee was staying at a mosque situated in Girdarjung village.
As per a Times Now report, the cops were also fired upon. The cops had received an input of a large number people hiding in a mosque while flouting lockdown orders. The cops eventually arrested three in connection with the attack.
Another such incident has been reported from Ahmedabad’s Gomtipur area where police officials were attacked with stones while searching for individuals who had gone and attended the event in Markaz Nizamuddin.
Three people have been arrested from Ahmednagar in Maharashtra for assaulting Health officials who had been contact tracing Markaz attendees. The attack on Monday (30 March) was reportedly a result of rumours that the officials were collecting CAA/NPR data.
Two Tablighi event attendees had tested positive in Ahmednagar on Sunday (29 March) following which the contact tracing process was initiated.
