Total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in India rose to seven, after a 69-year-old man passed away in Gujarat’s Surat on Sunday (22 March). The man became the first person in the state to die after getting infected with the Novel Coronavirus.
The patient, as per an ANI tweet, showed co-morbid conditions.
Another woman, 65, also passed away in a hospital in Vadodara after showing co-morbid conditions. However, the Health and Family Welfare Department of the state said, her test reports for coronavirus were still awaited.

Earlier on the same day, a 38-year-old man from Bihar and a 63-year-old from Maharashtra also lost their lives.
Bihar man Saif Ali, who is the first non-senior citizen in India to die of COVID-19, was admitted to AIIMS in Patna. According to the AIIMS Director, he was originally taken to the hospital for kidney failure, but turned out to be COVID-19 positive and died due to the same.
The AIIMS authorities also confirmed, he also had renal failure, after existing kidney problems, reported India Today.
