A former Indian Army officer, who is now based in Canada, has been arrested on suspicion of spying for foreign agencies, police said on Saturday (2 November). The man was taken into custody on Friday (1 November) night.
Confirming his arrest, Delhi Cantt Police Station House Officer Inspector Sameer Srivastava told IANS: "It is difficult to say much right now. The suspect is being questioned by several agencies. Nothing concrete has come out as yet."
Highly placed Delhi Police sources told IANS, "The Intelligence agencies and the Indian Army have also been alerted on the case. The Delhi Police is planning a joint probe with them into the case."

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
