In New Delhi's Maujpur, stone-pelting between pro and anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protesters started on Monday with people from both sides pelting stones at each other. The miscreants also pelted stones at some of the homes.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal said, "Instructed Delhi Police and Commissioner of Police to ensure that law and order are maintained in North East Delhi. The situation is being closely monitored. I urge everyone to exercise restraint for the maintenance of peace and harmony."
Earlier, an anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protester during a violent protest in Delhi’s Jaffarabad area opened fire in an attempt to intimidate the cops countering the mob.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
