The Delhi Police on Tuesday (4 March) negated claims made by the suspended AAP leader Tahir Hussain that he had to be rescued from his house by the cops during the riots.
After allegations of his role in the gruesome murder of IB officer Ankit Sharma, Hussain in his defence had claimed that a mob had forcibly entered his home during the riots and congregated atop his terrace. Seeing this Hussain claimed that he called the cops, who then moved him and his family to safety.
The Delhi police though in a statement has claimed that. “On the intervening night of 24-25 February, news of the Councillor being stuck was received by police, upon investigation it was found the councillor was safe in his house”.
A rioting mob was captured in various videos pelting stones and petrol bombs from the terrace of Hussain’s house. The family of Ankit Sharma has accused Hussain of being part of a conspiracy to kill the IB officer.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
