The popular comedy group, AIB has been under scrutiny ever since the #MeToo movement gained momentum and have lost lucrative deals and assignments worth crores due to charges raised against its current and former members.
Amazon Prime Video may terminate the deal for existing and upcoming shows with the group while Hotstar, the video streaming platform of Star India has already cancelled the third season of ‘On Air with AIB’, as reported by Economic Times.
Earlier, Hotstar said it would not stand by anything that compromises the respect or safety of women. “In light of recent events involving AIB, we are cancelling production of ‘On Air with AIB’ Season 3, with immediate effect,” the OTT (over the top) player said in a statement.
Hotstar had commissioned 30 episodes for the third season of the show, which was released on 24 September. However, only seven episodes were streamed so far.
AIB was also working on a digital series, ‘Gormint’ for Amazon Prime Video. Sources said the series, earlier titled ‘Ministry’, has been called off. This, however, could not be verified independently and with ET’s mail query to Amazon Prime remaining unanswered.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
