Amid India's nationwide vaccination drive against COVID-19, yesterday (16 January), farmer protesters in Haryana's Kaithal chased away doctors from a vaccination centre and disrupted the drive, reports Mirror Now.

The farmers who disrupted the vaccination at the centre and chased away the doctors from the facility did so in a bid to voice their opposition to the three recent agri-sector reform laws which had received the Parliament's and President Ram Nath Kovind's assent months ago.

The matter was sorted only after the local police establishment in Kaithal reached the scene and intervened.

The development comes at a time when a stalemate on the three laws continues between the Government and protesting farmers who have blocked several borders of the national capital. The protesters continue to demand a complete repeal of the three laws, which the Government has not agreed to.
