As far as numbers go, the Kamal Nath government until now enjoyed the support of 121 MLAs out of which 114 belong to the Congress. The current strength of the state assembly is 228 which puts the majority mark at 115.
Following the resignation of these 19 MLAs, the majority mark will be brought down to 105. The BJP in this scenario will be in a position to form the government as it has 107 MLAs of its own. The strength of the Congress+ combine will be reduced to 103.
